Stephen Jenks (March 12, 1759 to before 1827) - The first born child of Jesse Jenks, Sr. and Mary Rhoda Smith, Stephen was born in Smithfield, Providence, Rhode Island.  He married Anne Sayles, the sister of his father's second wife, on August 5, 1784.  Stephen in listed as deceased in his father Jesse's will dated April 6, 1827.

Stephen Jenks and his family removed to Scipio, N. Y. where Stephen was a successful farmer. Before removal he made a prospecting tour in the middle west. His sons Stephen, Gideon and Samuel in 1814 bought near Laurel, Indiana. ("Genealogy of the Jenks Family of America", by William B. Browne, page 139). Stephen died in Scipio, Cayuga, New York.

Anne Sayles (September 15, 1761 to May 22, 1849) Daughter of Captain Gideon Sayles and Sarah Shippley. She was the sister of Abigail Sayles, the second wife of Jesse Jenks, Sr. She is listed as being born in Cheshire, Berkshire, Massachusetts.  She died in Colerain, Hamilton, Indiana.

*Footnote:  There is some speculation that she married Stephen Jenks' younger brother Allen some time after his death.
