Gilbert Henry Cleveland (December 1, 1868 to January 18, 1941) - Born in Wisconsin to John Henry Cleveland and Nancy Knapp, Gilbert was the eldest of five children. He had a sister, Louisa, brother, Rush, and two sisters, Marcie and Gracie. They moved to Sun Prairie, Dane, Wisconsin, on the 1870 census, then on to Center, Smith, Kansas by the 1875 Kansas State census. Gilbert was a saloon keeper on the 1900 census in Dolton Township, Turner County, South Dakota. On the 1910 census, Gilbert is listed as a hotel keeper. In 1920 his occupation was a mason. He was also a farmer at some point. He passed away in Kings, California, at the age of 72.

Elizabeth Kapperman (February 1876 to unknown) Elizabeth was born in Iowa to unknown Kapperman and Emily Unknown, both of Germany. She went by many nicknames over the course of her life and was known as "Anna" and also "Lizzie". Together with her husband, Gilbert (also known as "Bert", "Herbert", "Hilbert" and "George" on occasion), they had twelve children. The first born child did not survive infancy.
